PUTTING IN

THE WORK

My name is Jayden Smith, and I’m a Class of 2029 linebacker and safety at James Kenan High School in North Carolina. I’m 5’9”, 155 pounds with a 3.0 GPA, and I take a lot of pride in being a tough, energetic player who competes hard every single snap. I play with a high motor, and I love being around the football whether that’s making tackles in the box, covering in space, or creating turnovers. I feel like one of my biggest strengths is my versatility because I can impact the game from multiple positions on defense. I try to bring intensity, leadership, and physicality every time I step on the field.

Even in limited action last season, I was able to make plays with 16 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 5 fumble recoveries, and a fumble recovery touchdown in just four games. I’m the type of player that fights through adversity and never quits on a play. My goal is always to outwork everybody around me and continue getting better every day. Basketball has also helped me improve my athleticism, movement, and balance on the field. I look up to Ray Lewis because of the passion and energy he played with, and I try to bring that same mindset to the game. I believe I’m a good prospect for coaches to evaluate because I’m coachable, hardworking, physical, and determined to keep developing into a complete player on and off the field.

I’m ready to earn it. Let’s go to work.
