Jake Seay, a freshman at Somerset High School, took first place at the Marvin Allen Powerlifting Invitational on February 1, lifting a combined total of 1,335 pounds. His performance showcased strength, discipline, and work ethic well beyond his years—cementing his place as one of the top young powerlifters in the region.

The Somerset Bulldogs, led by head coach Koy Detmer, delivered a statement win Friday night, overpowering the Jourdanton Indians with a decisive 48–13 victory. It was an all-around team effort, with Somerset controlling the game from start to finish in what can only be described as an epic beat down.
